Attempted Bank Robbery in Cos Cob
Greenwich Police are at the scene of an attempted bank robbery Monday evening.

A man wearing a New York Yankees cap walked into the Cos Cob branch of Chase Bank mid-afternoon Monday and attempted to rob the branch located across the street from the Cos Cob School.
According to Greenwich Police, the “lone male entered the Cos Cob branch of the Chase Bank and presented a teller with a demand note” shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, March 9.
“The teller did not immediately comply with the demands of the note, and the suspect then left without incident and without any cash. No one was injured,” Greenwich Police said in a statement about the incident at 371 Post Rd. bank branch. The Cos Cos School is across the busy intersection of the Post Road, Valley Road and Mead.

The suspect is described as a “white male of average height and build, with a medium complexion. ... wearing a Yankees cap, sunglasses, a dark hoodie sweatshirt, and blue jeans,” according to police.
