You are invited to an afternoon of opera, Broadway, and popular songbook selections with The Metropolitan Opera’s Grammy-nominated Mikhail Svetlov – described by The Washington Post as a "titanic and all-encompassing bass." Experience the range and beauty of a world-renowned artist in the intimate setting of a historic wooden chapel in backcountry Greenwich. Svetlov has graced the stages of La Scala, Royal Albert Hall, The Bolshoi, Deutsche Opera Berlin, Carnegie Hall, Arena di Verona, Covent Garden, Houston Grand Opera, and The Metropolitan Opera. “Mikhail Svetlov is an astonishing performer.” - Opera News
North Greenwich Church began presenting free community concerts in 2020 to offer beauty and inspiration to neighbors with outdoor performances during the bewildering time of pandemic lockdowns, and to provide employment to extraordinary musicians when all performances were being canceled. The concerts have now moved back indoors, into the extraordinary acoustics of the antique church, which will celebrate its bicentennial in 2027. While the church has never charged admission for its community concerts, donations for the music program are welcome and appreciated.
