Car Rammed Into 2 Police Vehicles Before Crashing On I-95: Greenwich Police
An 18-year-old CT resident was arrested on Feb. 12, according to police.

GREENWICH, CT — A car rammed into two police vehicles in an attempt to flee the downtown Greenwich area on Feb. 12 after officers tried to make a stop, according to police. The car crashed a short time later on I-95 in Norwalk and an 18-year-old was arrested.
Yamari Davis, of New Britain, was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree larceny, interfering with police, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, and conspiracy to commit first-degree reckless endangerment, his arrest report says.
Police said they have been investigating "a spree" of motor vehicle thefts in recent days, and the Greenwich Police Department was advised of a possible suspect vehicle seen in the Central Greenwich Business District on Feb. 12 around 4:30 p.m.

"An attempt to stop the suspect vehicle resulted in the suspect vehicle ramming two police vehicles before fleeing the area in a reckless fashion," police said in an arrest report. The address of the incident is listed as East Elm Street.
The vehicle then crashed on I-95 in Norwalk, police said.

"A subject was stopped a short distance away and investigators were able to determine that he was one of at least three occupants of the suspect vehicle based on being located in close proximity to the crash location, wearing clothes similar to that of the persons observed running from the crash site," police said, noting the man was unable to explain how he arrived in Norwalk from his home in New Britain.
Police said the man was wearing shoes that left unique impressions in the snow adjacent to where the vehicle was located.
"After an obviously fabricated story about staying with his grandmother, which was verified as false, it was determined that probably cause existed" for an arrest, police added.
Davis was unable to post a $50,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 26.
