No household applications are required for meals, though the district may request income forms for other programs, and federal civil-rights protections apply to all participants.

Up to the Minute Greenwich Property Transfers, July 27-29, 2026 (greenwichfreepress.com) — Recent property transfers recorded at Greenwich Town Hall show a busy local real estate market, with sales ranging from under $2 million to nearly $16 million across town. Addresses span Old Wagon Road, Khakum Wood Road, Havemeyer Place, River Road and more, giving residents a clear snapshot of current prices and activity in their own neighborhoods.
   

3. Next for the Wrecking Ball in Old Greenwich: Grandfathered 2-Family in Single-Family Zone (greenwichfreepress.com) — A 1936 two-family house at 37 Arcadia Road in Old Greenwich is slated for demolition, with the earliest permit date set for September 29, 2026. Because it predates 1940, any written objection to DPW's Building Division will double the waiting period to 90 days, giving neighbors more time to weigh in on redevelopment concerns and potential short-term rental impacts.
   

4. Longest-Serving US Prisoner Francis Clifford Smith Dies of 'Old Age' at 101 (ntd.com) — Greenwich figures prominently in the case of Francis Clifford Smith, convicted of killing a night watchman at Indian Harbor Yacht Club in 1949 and long considered the nation's longest-serving prisoner. After his death sentence was commuted, he spent decades behind bars, entered supervised parole in 2020, and has now died in a nursing facility at age 101.
