Car Thefts Continue To Plague Greenwich: Police
The Greenwich Police Department is once again telling residents to lock their cars following two more car thefts in town over the weekend.
GREENWICH, CT — Following two more car thefts over the weekend, the Greenwich Police Department is reminding residents once again to lock their cars and take their keys with them.
A 2020 Land Rover, which was unlocked with the keys inside, was taken in the overnight hours from Aug. 26-27 from the east side of town, south of East Putnam Avenue, police said. The car was recovered in Waterbury, and a juvenile was arrested and a second person got away on foot, police said.
A 2016 Audi A-6, also unlocked with the keys inside, was taken overnight from Aug. 28-29 in the backcountry. Lt. Martin O'Reilly said the car has not been recovered yet.

"The obvious trend continues that residents need to lock their vehicles and remove the keys when they are not operating it," O'Reilly said.
