Check Out How the Greenwich Community Gardens Grow

There are plenty of green thumbs in town who are reaping the harvests of their efforts.

Come out and see just how easy it is to have a garden in Greenwich.

Greenwich Community Gardens (GCG) is hosting a garden tour this Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Armstrong Court Community Garden.

The garden plots are in full bloom and present a riot of color, shapes and sizes as individual as each of it gardeners. There also is a new greenhouse on view.

Free refreshments will be served under our Pergola and check out our brick pizza oven. GCG members will be on hand to answer gardening questions and provide information on how to acquire your own garden plot (Greenwich residents only) for next season.

The Armstrong Court garden location has 140 4-foot by 8-foot garden plots, the pergola sitting area, native gardens, pizza oven and greenhouse.

The Community Garden provides individuals, families and groups the opportunity to grow their own organic, local food and have fun in the process while meeting new people and learning from seasoned gardeners of all ages and backgrounds. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Follow the yellow brick road past the playground to the garden. All Greenwich residents interested in Community Gardens are welcome.

The rain date is Sunday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Check our website www.greenwichcommunitygardens.org to determine if rain date is in effect.
