Classes Canceled For Greenwich Public Schools Thursday

Snow, freezing rain and sleet are expected to impact the area Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Public Schools District has canceled classes Thursday due to the inclement weather that's expected to move into the area.

According to the National Weather Service, snow, freezing rain and sleet are expected before noon, then rain is likely between noon and 3 p.m. The high Thursday is forecast near 36.

Little or no ice accumulation is expected, but new snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

The school district noted that all afterschool activities are canceled as well. The Board of Education's regularly scheduled retreat at 7 p.m. has been changed to virtual only.
