Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol Announces 'Patrolman Of The Year' For 2024

The Cos Cob Fire Patrol is a volunteer company that has been serving the Town of Greenwich since 1927.

GREENWICH, CT — Stephanie Dunn Ashley has been named the Cecil H. Gardner Memorial Distinguished Patrolman for 2024.

At a ceremony held in January, Dunn Ashley was recognized for her years of service to the Patrol as a distinguished member of the organization, a faithful leader, and an officer, since joining in 2013.

"Her active and sincere participation with the Patrol warrants this special commendation and we are proud to share this with the Town," a news release on the announcement said. "Dunn Ashley has gone above and beyond for the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol and has been involved with mentoring new Patrol members through their probation period, has been a part of our fundraising programs: Operation Santa, benefit dinners, boot drives and cookoffs. She has also led our publicity, social media, and Good & Welfare committees over the years."

Dunn Ashley's certifications include: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Nationally Registered EMT, FEMA Incident Command System classes 100, 200, 700 and FEMA National Incident Management System 800, HAZMAT Operations, and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.

Dunn Ashley has held officer positions and service positions since 2013, starting as board secretary until moving to her current role as board president in 2019, and has maintained her status as an active service member during these years.

Since joining the Patrol, she has responded to 895 alarms, has participated in 476 specials, and has logged over 2,700 hours dedicated to keeping the Patrol moving forward.
