Court Injunction Filed By BOE Candidate Peter Bernstein Against Republican Rivals
Bernstein is claiming Jason Auerbach, Peter Sherr and Randall Smith are trying to impede his ability to obtain petition signatures.

GREENWICH, CT — Republican Board of Education incumbent Peter Bernstein, who has mounted a petition drive to run for re-election, has filed a court injunction against his Republican rivals Jason Auerbach, Peter Sherr and Randall Smith, who Bernstein claims are sabotaging his candidacy.
State marshals simultaneously served the documents on Wednesday. Bernstein is also requesting that Greenwich officials give him a two-week extension beyond the Aug. 9 deadline to obtain the 637 signatures from the town's registered Republicans to get onto the fall ballot.
Through his attorney Colin Connor of the law firm Russon & Associates, LLC, Bernstein claims the "unlawful actions" of Auerbach, Sherr and Smith have "improperly" hindered, harassed and interfered with his ability to collect signatures.

On separate occasions at Tod's Point and the Greenwich dump, when Bernstein was trying to collect signatures, one or more of the three other Republican candidates deliberately tried to impede Bernstein's ability to obtain signatures and interact with voters, the injunction claims.
Bernstein is seeking an "ex parte temporary injunction," which means he wants the court to grant him immediate relief from such alleged actions.
