CT Prosecutors Take Skakel Case To U.S. Supreme Court: Report

Prosecutors are seeking to have the murder conviction, which was overturned, reinstated.

GREENWICH, CT — Connecticut prosecutors have made good on their vow to take the recently overturned murder case of Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel to the United States Supreme Court, writes the Connecticut Post.

Skakel's past conviction for the murder of 15-year-old Greenwich resident Martha Moxley in 1975 was overturned by the Connecticut Supreme Court in May, and soon after Connecticut prosecutors said they would seek to have the conviction reinstated by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The appeal to the Supreme Court was made Thursday, in which the state argues that Skakel's defense was not properly reviewed by state justices, according to the publication.
