The Greenwich Board of Selectmen this week approved a road closure for the event.
GREENWICH, CT — With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror, residents can now look forward to the annual Greenwich menorah lighting and car parade.
This week, the Greenwich Board of Selectmen approved a road closure for the event between Greenwich Avenue and Bolling Place. Shira Fisher from Chabad Greenwich went before the board on Tuesday to ask for the closure.
The Menorah Car Parade will kick-off from Cos Cob School at 4 p.m. on Dec. 18, and continue down East Putnam Avenue to Greenwich Avenue, ending at Arch Street for the grand menorah lighting and gelt drop at 5 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to stay for the Chanukah concert and glow party with singer Mordechai Levowitz after the menorah is lit.
"It's a great event. Seeing all the smiling faces is great," First Selectman Fred Camillo said during this week's selectmen meeting. "If you haven't been to the menorah lighting, I highly recommend it to anybody."
