Don't Miss World Series Finale and a ...

'Tex' Message: This Yankee enjoys his hometown Patches.

The baseball season may be over for Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira but he's probably going to play like millions of other baseball fans tonight: watching the St. Louis Cardinals battle it out for the World Series Championship against the Texas Rangers.

For 'Tex,' perhaps it's a little bittersweet to watch game. He was drafted by the Rangers in 2001 and two years later, made his major league debut with them. To see whether the Rangers will win their first championship locally, tune into the 7:30 p.m. game on Channels 5 and 61; or listen on WEPN-AM 1050.

Texiera, a three-time Golden Glove award-winner, is a Greenwich resident (one of many ) and Thursday night he stopped by a Patch event in New York where he wasn't shy about donning a Patch T-shirt and discussing he keeps on top of his hometown news by reading Greenwich Patch, where he lives with his family. He's originally from Severna Park, MD and keeps tabs on that hometown by regularly reading SevernaPark.patch.com.
