An Easter 'Egg-stravaganza' in Greenwich

The Greenwich Lions & ShopRite Annual Egg Hunt will be held this weekend.

Grab the Easter baskets and the kids and head over to Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Saturday for the Greenwich Lions Club annual Easter egg hunt.

The Greenwich Lions & ShopRite Annual Egg Hunt fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 28 with the gate opening at 11 a.m. The hunts will start at 11:15. The egg hunt fields will be set up for three different age groups and restocked for repeat hunts in order to accommodate all of the egg hunters.

The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance, and families will have an opportunity to photograph him with the kids. Food booths, tattoos, face painting, and visits with Fidelco Guide Dogs are among the other activities that are being planned.

Tickets are $10, and will be sold at the gate in addition to other activity and food food tickets. There are no advance ticket sales. The rain date is Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m.

The fundraiser will benefit the Lions work in town that includes providing assistance to the blind and visually impaired. The club supports the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation that it helped to establish and sponsors the Lions Low Vision Center. It also supports the Hardy Finch Lions Large Print Collection at Greenwich Library that the club also founded.
