GREENWICH, CT — For many families in Greenwich, the "sandwich generation" struggle is all too real: balancing the demands of a career and children while simultaneously worrying about the safety of aging parents. Local brothers Chris and Tom Weldon knew that feeling intimately while caring for their grandmother during her battle with dementia.

They saw an industry that was often reactive rather than proactive, and clinical rather than personal. In 2024, alongside industry veteran Andrew Schwartz, they decided to build the solution they couldn’t find for their own family.

The result is Endurance Home Care, a Fairfield County-based "concierge" wellness firm that has transformed from a mission-driven startup into a regional powerhouse in just over one year.

A Local Growth Story

The numbers behind Endurance’s first year are staggering. The company has seen 30x growth and has hired over 500 care professionals to keep up with the skyrocketing demand across the Gold Coast and Westchester County.

But for founder Chris Weldon, who retired from a successful career in finance at age 37 to focus on community-impact work, the goal was never just about the numbers—it was about the standard.

"Our growth is a testament to the fact that families are looking for more than traditional care—they want a digital safety net," said Chris Weldon. "By integrating AI-driven remote monitoring with our professional caregivers, we are catching health risks before they become emergencies."

The "White Glove" Difference

Unlike traditional agencies that are often beholden to insurance constraints, Endurance operates as a private-pay, "white glove" service. This allows them to focus on a holistic wellness model that looks more like a high-end concierge service than a medical utility.

Two factors set Endurance apart in a crowded market:

  1. The 10% Talent Rule: While a national labor shortage has left many agencies struggling to find staff, Endurance’s "care for the caregiver" philosophy has made them a magnet for talent. This year alone, they received over 5,000 applications, allowing them to be incredibly selective—hiring only the top 10% of caregivers to ensure they match the "concierge" expectations of Greenwich families.
  2. The AI Safety Net: Endurance has pioneered the use of a proprietary AI Safety Net. This technology acts as a 24/7 guardian, utilizing remote monitoring to detect subtle changes in a client’s health or behavior—such as fall risks or medication irregularities—long before they escalate into an ER visit.

Rooted in the Community

Despite its rapid scaling, Endurance remains a family-run business at its core. By maintaining deep referral partnerships with local healthcare providers and discharge planners, they have become a critical link in the "hospital-to-home" transition, significantly reducing readmission rates for local seniors.

For the Weldon brothers, the mission remains personal. Every client they serve is treated with the same rigor and empathy they sought for their own grandmother.

As the company expands its footprint deeper into Westchester and across Connecticut, it serves as a reminder that in the heart of the "Gold Coast," the most successful innovations are often the ones that start with a neighbor helping a neighbor.
