Evading Driver Sought After Serious Crash On I-95 In Greenwich: Police

State police said the collision occurred between three vehicles on I-95 on July 28.

GREENWICH, CT — State police are looking to identify and locate the driver of an unknown commercial vehicle who left the scene of a serious accident on Interstate-95 in Greenwich on July 28.

At approximately 11:53 a.m., state police Troop G received 911 calls reporting a collision on I-95 South in the area of Exit 5.

According to state police, a 2003 Audi A6 was driving in the left lane when, for an unknown reason, it struck the rear driver's side of a 2021 BMW X3 in the center lane. The Audi then hit an unknown commercial vehicle.

The commercial vehicle then fled the scene, state police said, adding that the weather was clear, the roadway was dry and traffic flow was light.

The driver and a passenger in the BMW were not injured.

The driver of the Audi, a 20-year-old man from Port Chester, N.Y., was taken to Stamford Hospital "with suspected serious injuries," state police said.
