Eversource Helicopter To Fly Over Greenwich

You may see a blue and yellow helicopter over Greenwich between Dec. 14 and 23.

GREENWICH, CT — Eversource will be flying a helicopter over many municipalities in Connecticut this month, including over Greenwich, to survey its electrical transmission lines.

The helicopter will survey the transmission lines with LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology and gather data from the air. Eversource engineers will use this data to optimize the transmission system.

The company will conduct these aerial inspections from Dec. 14 and 23. Flights will be between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., including on weekends, weather conditions permitting.

The blue and yellow helicopter Eversource will use has a tail number of N803JB and will be traveling at an altitude of 1400 feet.
