GHS alum and former head of the Boys and Girls Club, Bob DeAngelo will address students at the June 18 graduation ceremony.

The senior class of Greenwich High School announced on Wednesday that it has selected Robert ’Bob’ DeAngelo as the commencement speaker for the June 18 graduation ceremony to be held at Cardinal Stadium.
DeAngelo is a 1975 GHS graduate. A Greenwich native, DeAngelo returned to Greenwich to be executive director of the Boys & Girls Club Greenwich in 1998, a position he held for 16 years until his resignation in January 2014.
GHS Senior Class President Julia Bunte-Mein said in a statement, “We are so excited that Mr. DeAngelo has agreed to be the 2015 Commencement Speaker. GHS Headmaster Chris Winters said, “Bob has been a good friend to Greenwich High School for many years. Most of our graduates, at one point or another, spent time at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club. They know how that institution, under the steady leadership of Bob, contributed to the person they are today. It is an honor to welcome Bob back to GHS and to have him impart his wisdom on our graduates.”
DeAngelo, who attended the club while growing up in Greenwich, is credited with reenergizing the club with innovative programming, developing strong partnerships in the community, and leading the capital campaign that rebuilt the clubhouse on Horseneck Lane.
