GREENWICH, CT — Mark Kordick, the former Greenwich police captain who admitted to paying for fake Donald Trump/Fred Camillo political signs that were planted around town before the municipal election in 2019, has offered to settle his lawsuit against Greenwich for $675,000, Greenwich Time reported last week.

According to court documents viewable online, an "offer of compromise" was filed in state Superior Court in Stamford on July 14.

The Greenwich Board of Selectmen is slated to discuss the offer in executive session on Monday, but there is no guarantee on a vote in the matter.

The signs encouraged residents to "Vote Republican. Vote Team Trump/Camillo" and to "Make Greenwich Great Again," linking First Selectman Fred Camillo, a Republican candidate at the time, to then-President Donald Trump.

Kordick said he wanted to start a conversation about Republican support for Trump in town, Greenwich Time wrote. He filed the lawsuit against Greenwich in June 2020 claiming his right to free speech was violated.
