Girl Scout Day Proclaimed In Greenwich

From the Town of Greenwich: With members of five Girl Scout troops in attendance, Greenwich First Selectman Peter J. Tesei proclaimed Monday, March 12 as Girl Scout Day.

The proclamation marks the 106th anniversary of the founding of the Girl Scouts by Juliette Gordon Low. Mr. Tesei presented the proclamation in a ceremony at Greenwich Town Hall on Monday afternoon. Girl Scouts Julie Ann Cartine, Sophie Trudeau and Laura Colombo of Troop 50100; Isabella Shanahan of Troop 50322; Rylie Shanahan of Troop 50125; Alexa Chua of Troop 50124 and Helena Sushon of Troop 50540
attended the ceremony.

To demonstrate the work of one of their projects, the Scouts presented Mr. Tesei with boxes of Girl Scout cookies for which they created and placed stickers urging residents to practice water conservation efforts.

Mr. Tesei praised the girls’ efforts. “You are taking on positive endeavors for your fellow citizens.”
