Glastonbury HS Is Tops in National Safe Driving Campaign
The school competed against 3,300 schools across the country to win a $100,000 grant.

There was plenty to celebrate at Glastonbury High School Monday as the school was named one of five winners of the State Farm Insurance ‘Celebrate My Drive’ campaign that’s designed to educate safety to teen drivers.
The $100,000 award was bittersweet as it was organized following the death of the student’ classmate in 2013.
The campaign is about celebrating the new life of freedom of earning a driver’s license. The campaign focused on making smart choices behind the wheel and avoiding distracted driving — the message of 2N2® – 2 eyes on the road, 2 hands on the wheel.

Student Audrey Apanovich organized Glastonbury’s drive for the win which involved participation of more than 3,000 high schools across the country.
The school is now going to create a curriculum to promote safe teen driving with the hopes of expanding it to schools across the state, according to NBC Connecticut.
