Greenwich 375th Anniversary Parade Set for Sept. 27

Greenwich continues its year-long 375th Anniversary celebration with a spectacular parade to commemorate the Town’s founding. On September 27, 2015 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the steps of Town Hall, more than 300 marchers, including descendants of Greenwich’s founding families and representatives from the widest spectrum of the Town’s organizations and nonprofit agencies will lead a parade down Greenwich Avenue with a grand finale ceremony at which a gigantic American flag will be unfurled in a patriotic ceremony on Havemeyer Field.

Dressed in handsome red Colonial style uniforms, the Second Company of the Governor’s Foot Guard will join the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, marching bands, fife and drum corps, brass and bugle corps, elaborate floats, antique cars, vintage and modern fire trucks, Cub and Boy Scout troops, Brownie and Girl Scout troops, Shriners’ cars, and even the iconic Wells Fargo carriage and horses as they march through the heart of town.

In short, we don’t want anyone to miss the fun and excitement of what promises to be Greenwich’s biggest parade!
