Greenwich Is America's Safest Community: New Report
The folks at SafeHome.org looked at cities with populations over 50,000.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich is again considered the safest community in America among towns with populations above 50,000, according to home security experts SafeHome.org.
For residents of Greenwich, the SafeHome honor is among the reasons they moved to the town, along with the great school system, wonderful public resources and amenities, and great homes, shopping and dining.
"Not only is Greenwich the safest city in the nation, but it is also the wealthiest city in the state of Connecticut," writes SafeHome.org. "Its proximity to New York City makes it a desirable city to live in for commuters, where their families can be safe."

Greenwich is the only Connecticut community in the top 50 in the country (Fairfield comes in at #65), and one of only four in the top 101. To come up with the ranking, SafeHome used FBI statistics and the Chapman University Survey of American Fears.
First Selectman Peter Tesei tells Patch that the honor is a testament to the town's commitment on quality-of-life issues, and the hardworking efforts of Greenwich's emergency services personnel.

"The SafeHome ranking of Greenwich as the nation’s 'safest cities' is a testament to our priority in funding life safety services; Police, Fire & GEMS," Tesei told Patch. "It also recognizes our commitment to the health and well-being of ALL our residents.
"We are a diverse community of neighborhoods who take pride in the character and history of our Town. This recognition will affirm that Greenwich is a community that people chose to live, work and raise their families. We invite all those who don’t know to come and check us out.
