Greenwich Boys Basketball Opens Season Tonight

Coming off a 4-16 season, the boys basketball team kicks off its 2011-12 campaign on Wednesay when the Cardinals host Stamford at 7 p.m.
The Cardinals face a tough opener as Stamford reached the FCIAC finals last season, falling to Bassick.

Greenwich graduated three seniors in Adam Milton, Tito Morales and David Josephson while Dylan Callahan decided not to play to concentrate on baseball.
The Cardinals' top returning players are seniors Greg Donlic and Alejandro Rodriguez and junior Alex McMurray.
The Greenwich girls basketball team, which is off to a 1-1 start, also is action Wednesday at Stamford (7 p.m.)

The Greenwich Soccer Association winter teams have been competing in the Armonk Indoor Super League over the past three weeks, and four GSA squads will compete in the championship game this weekend.
On Saturday, the GSA Boys Milan team will face Harrison and GSA Arsenal will face Chappaqua United in their respective divisions. On the girls side, GSA Heat and GSA Spirit will play each other for the U9/U10 title on Sunday.
