Greenwich Boys Lacrosse Charges Into FCIAC Semifinals

Andrew Feeney recorded three goals and an assist Saturday as the Greenwich boys lacrosse team routed Staples 14-7 to advance to the semifinals of the FCIAC playoffs.
Woody Waesche also scored three goals and handed out two assists for the defending FCIAC champions, who will face No. 3 seed Ridgefield in the semifinals on Tuesday at McMahon.
The second-seeded Cardinals (11-6) defeated the Tigers 8-7 during the regular season.Ridgefield also lost to Greenwich in the quarterfinals of the Class L state state tournament last season.

Greenwich was in control throughout, opening a 7-1 lead after the first quarter. David Dickson added two goals and four assists for the Cardinals.
The Wreckers (13-4) pulled within 8-4 at the half, but Greenwich outscored Staples 6-3 in the second half.
