Greenwich Boys Lacrosse Pounds Stamford, 17-5 (Video)
Jason Sands and Andrew Feeney each scored three goals for the Cardinals
Jason Sands and Andrew Feeney each scored three goals as the Greenwich boys lacrosse team rolled to a 17-5 victory over the Black Knights in Stamford.
Greenwich (7-5, 6-2) rebounded from Saturday's 11-8 defeat at Billerica, one of the top teams in Masachusetts.
Despite the five losses, the Cardinals are ranked second in this week's Laxpower.com's state poll. Three of their defeats have come to national powers outside Connecticut. Last week, Greenwich upset Fairfield Prep, 10-4.
Ten different players scored for the Cardinals on Tuesday. Chris Pavelic, Eric Foote and Jacob Stein each had two goals while Alex Moeser, Patrick Coleman, Woodward Waesche, Walker Brady and Stetson Newman all scored once.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Stamford (5-7, 1-7), although the three wins came against non-FCIAC opponents.
