The Greenwich boys lacrosse team rebounded from a tough loss in the FCIAC playoffs to rout Stamford 16-4 on Saturday in a CIAC Class L qualifying game.
Chris Pavelic registered five goals for the Cardinals (12-7), who advanced to a first-round meeting at fifth-seeded Glastonbury on Wednesday (4:30 p.m).
Greenwich was coming off a 10-5 defeat to Ridgefield in the semifinals, but the Cardinals took out some of their frustrations on the Black Knights.

Eric Foote added three goals and three assists while Alex Moeser chipped in with two goals for No. 12 seed Greenwich, which built a 13-goal lead at halftime. David Dickson added a goal and three assists for the Cardinals.
After Stamford scored to make it 6-1, the Cardinals reeled off eight straight goals fo a 14-1 bulge at the intermission.
