The two students were surprised Thursday when they were presented with scholarships and accepted early to Fairfield Preparatory School.
GREENWICH, CT — Two Greenwich Catholic School eighth graders had a surprise visitor on Thursday in the form of Fairfield Preparatory School Academic Dean Elaine Clark, who presented the students with Magis Scholarships and early acceptance.
Garin Kopilak and Nicholas Barone will be graduating GCS with the class of 2023 before heading to Fairfield Prep next school year.
Both students applied for the Magis Scholarship. In addition to their application review, the students were reviewed based on a submitted essay, and their sixth and seventh grade transcripts which required a combined Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher in core courses which include mathematics, social studies and English/language arts.
