Greenwich Coronavirus: 795 Residents Test Positive For Virus

GREENWICH, CT — The number of Greenwich residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus has risen to 795 as of Wednesday, May 27, according to Greenwich Health Department Director Caroline Baisley. That number represents 40 more than the 755 positive cases reported by town officials on Friday, May 22.

Town officials also noted 46 Greenwich residents have died from the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, as of Tuesday, May 26, according to the state Department of Public Health.

Additionally, Greenwich Hospital reports that, as of Wednesday, there were 21 patients who tested positive for the virus being treated in several different units of the facility.

So far, 513 patients have been discharged from the hospital and continue their recuperation at home. To date, 7,407 people have been tested at the hospital, with 1,903 people testing positive, town officials said.

All of these numbers reflect both patients who live in Greenwich and patients from other areas in Connecticut, as well as Westchester County, N.Y., town officials said.

• The tennis courts on Loughlin Avenue will reopen Saturday, May 30.
• Doubles tennis will also be allowed at all town courts that are open beginning May 30.
• The Cobber North restaurant at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course is now open, with patio dining and take-out available.
