The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Maintaining our quality of life. Competent leadership is needed to support intelligent investments in our schools and other town infrastructure while keeping a very close eye to ensure the property rate remains low.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
It is ultimately a question of values. For Greenwich to remain such a heavenly place to live and to raise a family, yes, taxes must stay low, but we also must be sure that our schools and other Town facilities receive the level of investment they need.
Accomplishments:
I served as Vice Chairman of Risk Management at JP Morgan so I have extensive experience addressing complex financial challenges.
Other issues:
In addition to the deferred investment needs of our schools, our Town facilities must be improved to provide the amenities that residents deserve– including our civic centers, playing fields, safe bicycle routes, and parks and beaches. We need to enhance the current budget process to incorporate long-term planning to address the impact of climate change as well as the challenges of the Town’s increasing capital investment requirements. Good financial management is needed to accomplish these objectives with the lowest possible tax rates.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
To achieve what is needed for Greenwich it is vital that we work together. Collaboration, partnership, and inclusion of people with differing points of view are each hallmarks of good government and a good community. We are all blessed to live in a town such as Greenwich and it is an honor to play a role to help steer this community on a good path for the future.
