Greenwich Girls Hockey Falls to Ridgefield

The Ridgefield girls hockey team advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament with a wild 5-4 win over on Tuesday, avenging a 4-3 loss to the Cardinals in the FCIAC semifinals last week.
Megan Galloway scored the tiebreaking goal for the fourth-seeded Tigers with under a minute remaining after the Cardinals had rallied from a two-goal deficit.

Greenwich, which finished the season at 14-8-1, tied the game on goals by Erin Ferguson and Hannah Jeffrey in the final 4 1/2 minutes of regulation.
Jeffrey, who will graduate in June as Greenwich's all-time leading scorer, registered her second hat trick in as many games against Ridgefield, which went 2-2 against the Cardinals this season.

Galloway scored two goals and Lucy Wemyss, Cara Lockwood and Anna Marcus each added one for the Tigers, who improved 15-6-1.
Dart Freccia made 15 saves for Greenwich while Maggie Philbin stopped 25 shots for Ridgefield
