Claire Feeney recorded eight points Thursday as the Greenwich girls lacrosse team pulled away in the second half to defeat Ridgefield 16-8 in a CIAC Class L first-round contest.
Feeney registered four goals and four assists for the sixth-seeded Cardinals, who outscored the Tigers 11-3 in the second half after the team battled to a 5-5 tie at the intermission.
Greenwich (11-5) will play at No. 3 Hall (14-3) in Hartford on Monday at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
Tori Dunster scored three goals for the Cardinals while Maddie Johnson, Emma Christie, Brook Swift and Emily D'Erasmo each added a pair. The other other Greenwich goal was scored by Shanna Colliga.
Hannah Jeffrey finished with 17 saves for the Cardinals.
Shauna Norris scored two goals for 11th-seeded Ridgefield while Brita Christensen and Caroline Ogden each scored once. Maddie Philbin stopped 11 shots for the Tigers.
Greenwich also defeated Ridgefield during the regular season, 17-8.
