Greenwich Hedge Funder Explores Connecticut Gubernatorial Run: Report
The 48-year-old Republican says the state is in "crisis."

GREENWICH, CT — David Stemerman, a 48-year-old Greenwich resident and founder of the hedge fund Conatus Capital Management LP, is exploring a run for governor of Connecticut next year, reports Bloomberg News.
Stemerman reportedly wrote to clients earlier this month that he was shutting down the hedge fund for his gubernatorial run, in part because the state is in "crisis."
A Republican, Stemerman would be joining a crowded field of candidates for the party's nomination, which as Journal Inquirer columnist Chris Powell points out, would be another in a growing list of wealthy, self-funded Republican candidates.

Stemerman is also not the only Greenwich resident seeking the governor's office. Democrat Dita Bhargava recently filed paperwork to explore a run, too.
