Greenwich Holiday Stroll Scheduled For Dec. 9

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Downtown Business District will celebrate the Christmas spirit with a special Holiday Stroll on Greenwich Avenue Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5-8 p.m. The event is being produced by Re-Imagine Greenwich.

"This holiday season, we can all do our part by shopping locally. The Greenwich Holiday Stroll on Dec. 9 will allow residents and visitors to kick off the holiday shopping season on the Avenue," said First Selectman Fred Camillo in a news release. "Our downtown business district has a unique blend of independent and national retailers. I hope you will head to the Avenue with your family and friends to shop and make a dinner reservation at one of our fabulous restaurants. Thank you to the Re-Imagine Greenwich Committee for continuing to promote the vibrancy of Downtown Greenwich and all that it has to offer."

Many stores and restaurants are participating by offering extended hours, light bites and refreshments, discounts, in-store drawings, and giveaways.

Part of the mission of the First Selectman's Re-Imagine Greenwich Committee, co-chaired by Selectwoman Lauren Rabin and Sara Savov, is to determine ways to improve the experience residents and visitors have with our town business centers and with the local economy.

Greenwich Forward, the fundraising partner to Re-Imagine Greenwich, is a non-profit that expands public awareness, funds initiatives, events, and amenities, and promotes living, working, and playing, all in Greenwich.

"Thank you to all our retail and restaurants that continue to make our downtown business district a destination. The stroll is such a wonderful way to kick off the holiday, shop local, and enjoy the festive decorations," Rabin said in a news release.

Following the very successful launch of Free Music Fridays, which occurred this past summer, Savov points out how the committee's efforts bring the community together once again.

"I think you can tell a lot about how great our Greenwich community is by the support we all have been showing one another," said Savov in a news release. "This Holiday Stroll is just one more example of how our Town businesses and residents come together to create something beneficial to all. Shopping, dining, and enjoying all that Greenwich has to offer under the brilliantly lit trees, what a wonderful way to embrace the Holiday season."

Some examples of the Holiday Stroll unique offerings will include:

• Alice & Olivia will offer champagne and sweets. Shoppers are encouraged to bring an unwrapped new toy to support their annual toy drive.
• Athleta will offer 20 percent off one item and a drawing for a $50 shop card and a three-class pack from Greenwich Barre Studio with purchase.
• Bistro V, Meli Melo, and MIKU will offer an extra 10% on gift cards of $100 or more.
• Egg will offer 20 percent off during Holiday Stroll hours.
• Elm Street Oyster House will be offering a complimentary first drink, oyster specials, and a drawing to win a "Return to Tiffany" necklace donated by Julia Pandolfo of Tiffany & Co.
• Faherty will offer a light bite surprise and a chance to enter to win three drawings for a $200 gift card, a $100 gift card, or a blanket. No purchase is necessary.
• Fifi & Bella will offer refreshments and a free gift with purchase.
• Frame will offer 15 percent off any item and a chance to enter to win a pair of Frame jeans.
• Funky Monkey will offer an in-store drawing with a $100 gift card and selected toys.
• Gabby will offer 20 percent off all merchandise during Holiday Stroll hours. (some exclusions will apply) and a chance to enter to win a gift card with purchase.
• Garelick & Herbs will offer individually wrapped cookies to the first 100 shoppers.
• Gretchen Scott will be offering 50 percent off one clothing item for the event.
• J.Crew will offer in-store promotions and a gift card drawing.
• JhUHN, a new lifestyle store opened by a Greenwich resident, offers custom clothing for men and women, art, and gifts at 15 percent off and a chance to win a $500 gift card.
• J.McLaughlin will be open until 7 p.m., serving refreshments, and will feature holiday gifts from Navy Lobster.
• Nobelle will be hosting a holiday handbag and jewelry trunk show with multiple specialty designers. During Holiday Stroll hours only where customers can buy more and save more on the entire store (with very few exclusions)SPEND $300, SAVE $50; SPEND $500, SAVE $75; SPEND $1000, SAVE $150

• Olive & Bettes will offer a chance to enter to win a $200 gift card with purchase.
• The Piccolina Shop will offer a chance to win a $250 gift card.
• Pologeorgis will offer 30% off and hold a drawing for their Kingston Plush Toy Shearling Lion valued at $450 with no purchase necessary to enter.
• REBAg, a luxury designer bags store, will offer 10% to shoppers and a drawing for three gifts cards valued at $200.
• Roller Rabbit will be offering in-store surprises, festive drinks, and snacks from their custom-designed Roller Rabbit holiday mobile cart.
• SaksWorks will hold a drawing for a $250 gift card to their new restaurant, Ruby & Bellas, as well as a Complimentary Annual Membership. To be eligible to win one of these amazing prizes, customers will need to sign up and complete a tour to SaksWorks with one of their membership sales managers or community staff members.
• Shreve, Crump & Low will offer 15 percent (some exclusions apply), complimentary champagne, and a chance to enter and win a $500 gift card with purchase.
• Susan Blake Jewelry will offer 10% off during Holiday Stroll hours and complimentary sips.
• Todd Snyder, a new men's store, will have lite bites and wine and beer for shoppers while offering $50 off your purchase of $200+ (*exclusions apply and no discount on third-party merchandise.)
• Vilebrequin will offer holiday nibbles, sparkling drinks, and a red neoprene Vilebrequin beach pouch worth $105 with every purchase of $500. Everyone who comes into the store that night can fill out an entry to win one bathing suit of the entrant's choice valued at up to $305. The winner will be notified by email the next day.
• Vineyard Vines will be holding an in-store "enter to win" drawing for two winners for $100 off their next purchase.
