GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Hospital announced Tuesday the facility has received a "landmark gift" of $14 million from Lynne and Richard Pasculano, which will be used to establish the Pasculano Radiation Oncology Center at the Smilow Cancer Care Center Greenwich Hospital.

The donation is the single largest philanthropic gift in Greenwich Hospital's history and represents the latest milestone for the hospital, whose network of Yale Medicine physicians and care facilities reach into Stamford, as well as Westchester County, N.Y.

In partnership with Yale School of Medicine and Yale Cancer Center, patients at the new center will have local access to the most advanced oncological academic research, technologies and clinical care, officials said.

Services will include medical and surgical oncology, radiation oncology and infusion bays. Access to a specially designed healing garden will also offer patients and their families "an oasis of calm and comfort," officials said.

"Lynne and Richard Pasculano's extraordinary philanthropy is truly historic and will help to transform Greenwich Hospital into the region's premier destination for oncological care," hospital president Diane Kelly said in a statement. "Their support endorses our clinical growth efforts and establishes an enduring legacy, serving as inspiration to our entire community and marking a brilliant inauguration to our campaign efforts for Smilow in Greenwich."

Hospital officials said they expect to break ground on the new building in 2022 and have it operational in three years.
