Greenwich HS Boys Hope to Continue Win Streak

The boys basketball team seeks its third straight win to open the season on Tuesday, but the Cardinals have a rugged test at Ridgefield (7 p.m.), which once again appears loaded after last season's run to the Class LL semifinals.
After opening with victories over Stamford (61-50) and Fairfield Ludlowe (55-40), the Cardinals already are halfway toward matching last season's win total (4-16).

However, Ridgefield has yielded an average of only 27.0 points in season-opening wins over Darien (70-20) and Harding (57-34).
Under veteran coach Carl Charles, who guided Ridgefield to a school-record 21 wins last season, the Tigers rely on pressure defense and like to play an up-tempo game.

The Greenwich girls will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak when they host Ridgefield at 7 p.m.
Greenwich (1-3) has not won since a season-opening 49-47 victory over Fairfield Warde and is coming off Friday's 48-38 setback to Fairfield Ludlowe.
Ridgefield improved to 2-2 after Friday's 55-28 victory over Harding.
