The boys basketball team posted a stunning victory over seventh-ranked Trinity Catholic on Tuesday.
Junior Alex McMurray hit a jumper at the buzzer, giving the Cardinals a 43-41 win. McMurray's game-winner came after he stole an inbounds-pass underneath Greenwich's basket with under four seconds remaining.

Greenwich (5-1) won despite losing 6-foot-10 center Sem Kroon, who did not return after suffering an ankle injury in the third quarter.
Trinity Catholic fell to 4-2 after building a 17-8 lead after the first quarter.

McMurray led the Cardinals with 12 points while Greg Donlic added 10. Greenwich closed within 27-23 at the half and built a 41-37 lead with three minutes remaining.
Jason Boswell and Kevin Lemeune each had 11 points for the Crusaders, who in all likelihood will drop out of the top 10.

Mackenzie Griffin scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half as the Trinity Catholic girls basketball team rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit Tuesday to post a 43-35 victory over struggling Greenwich.
Caroline Barrett scored 15 of her 24 points in the first half, helping the Cardinals build a 26-17 halftime lead.
However, Trinity Catholic outscored Greenwich 15-2 in the third quarter to take a 32-28 lead into the final period.
Greenwich (1-7) lost its seventh straight game and hasn't won since a season-opening 49-47 overtime victory against Fairfield Warde.
Ali Palma added 12 points for Trinity Catholic, which won its second straight and improved to 5-3.
Greenwich was outscored 26-9 in the second half with Barrett scoring all nine points for the Cardinals.

Jack Gethings scored three goals, including the game-winner in overtime as the Xavier boys hockey team defeated Greenwich 3-2 on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first period, Gethings and Greenwich's Will Trepp traded goals in the second period.
Gethings put the Falcons back ahead with at 8:46 on the third period before JP Raftery pulled the Cardinals even again with 3:26 remaining.
But Gethings completed his hat trick 5:51 into the extra period as Xavier improved to 6-1-1.
Vinny Scorese made 26 saves for Greenwich, which was outshot 29-12 and dropped to 1-5.
