GREENWICH, CT — Outdoor dining has become a staple in Greenwich, and now the town is looking to improve its aesthetics.

Greenwich has launched a competition in which residents can send in ideas for designs on the jersey barriers used to protect outdoor diners from traffic.

"We all love our downtown and the barriers that are placed outside the restaurants haven’t enhanced the look we are so proud of," First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his weekly newsletter to the community last Friday. "So, we are opening a competition where residents can send in their ideas for designs on these barriers with the Re-Imagine Greenwich Committee picking the winners in March."
