Greenwich Nursing Home Among Best In County, 2 Among Worst: Report

The website Medicare.gov posted the ratings on its Nursing Home Compare webpage.

GREENWICH, CT — RegalCare at Greenwich, a nursing home on King Street, was recently rated among Fairfield County's worst in Nursing Home Compare, a Medicare.gov comparison webpage.

By comparison, the Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich was rated among the county's best.

A total of four Fairfield County nursing homes received scores of 1 star, out of a possible 5 stars, in overall ratings. The others are Cassena Care at Norwalk; Fairview Healthcare Center of Fairfield in Southport; and Laurel Ridge Health Care Center in Ridgefield.

In addition to its 1-star overall rating, the Greenwich facility also rated 1 star for health inspections. Its staffing and quality measures scores were average (3-stars each).

Nathaniel Witherell scored perfect 5's overall and for quality measures. Staffing rated 4 stars, and the facility scored 3 stars for health inspections.

A total of 15 Fairfield County nursing homes received 5 stars overall, and two of those nursing homes scored perfect 5's across the board, Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, and Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton.
