GREENWICH, CT — Election day in Greenwich is getting closer and there are plenty of candidates running for various positions in town. To help residents make an informed decision on Nov. 5, Greenwich Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as the big day draws near.

Incumbent Dan Ozizmir, 55, is running for a seat on the Representative Town Meeting (District 5). He has served on the RTM for four terms, and has also served on both the budget and labor contracts committees.

A Riverside resident, he worked in finance before his retirement.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Over my eight years on the RTM, as VC of the BOC, I have developed and communicated an unprecedented amount of knowledge on the town budget.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Yearly budget (BOC) presentation; first time ever done by the RTM, and the best.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have and will hold all town leaders accountable in a fact-based manner, regardless of party.
