Police said the extra patrol is needed after several thefts from cars occurred in the area over the past few weeks.
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department has added extra patrol on Grass Island following a string of thefts from cars in the area.
The most recent incident occurred on July 31 around 7:30 p.m. on Grass Island Road. Capt. Mark Zuccerella said a car window was smashed and a purse was stolen.
"Grass Island had three of these smash window thefts in the past few weeks. We are having extra patrol in the area. We are asking residents not to leave valuables in plain view. If they need to be in the vehicle, lock the items in the trunk," Zuccerella said.
