Greenwich Police Apprehend Alleged Port Chester Car Thief

The suspect was caught during the early morning hours of Aug. 6.

GREENWICH, CT — A 32-year-old Port Chester man was arrested by Greenwich police early Saturday morning after he allegedly stole a car in another community.

Gerardo Gamaliel Constanza was charged with first-degree Larceny and Operating a Vehicle without a License, accorining to police. He also was charged separately for being a Fugitive from Justice for an unrelated crime.

Greenwich police said that an adjoining jurisdiction, which they did not name, notified them of the theft, and Constanza was picked up less than half an hour later in Greenwich on Byram Road.

Constanza was held in lieu of a $275,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 15.
