Greenwich Police Department Appoints 2 Master Police Officers

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Police Chief James Heavey recently presented officers Jeff Franco and Shane Geary with their Master Police Officer badge. Franco and Geary are now permanently assigned to the position after a six month probationary period, according to a post from the GPD on Facebook.

"MPO's are the leaders and mentors of their fellow police officers. They have been specially trained to handle every situation and act as field specialist during critical incidents," the GPD Facebook post said. "To reach this level officers must have demonstrated both a high degree of competency adn have earned the trust of supervisors and colleagues. The Department has 10 Master Patrol Officer positions and each shift has MPOs assigned for duty."
