GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department announced on Tuesday it has issued arrest warrants for two suspects from Louisiana who are wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in the central Greenwich business district on June 25.

The warrants charge Kristen McKenzie, of Metairie, La., and Lamoine Ward, of LaPlace, La., with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and fourth-degree larceny, police said.

The department noted it's working with several law enforcement agencies across the country to locate McKenzie and Ward.

According to the arrest warrant, police said McKenzie tried to steal several items from a retail store on Mason Street on the afternoon of June 25. She was confronted by store employees outside of the store.

Ward then used his vehicle to hit one of the store employees, police said in a news release.

"After striking the employee, he pointed a firearm at the employee while he lay on the ground," police said. The two were then able to drive off.

"Once arrested [McKenzie and Ward] will be extradited back to Connecticut," police said.
