Greenwich Police Make Bank Robbery Arrest

The robbery occurred August 4.

GREENWICH, CT—Police have arrested a suspected bank robber.

Police responded to a bank robbery at Wells Fargo Bank on West Putnam Avenue Aug. 4 around 3:24 p.m., said Lt. Kraig Gray, police spokesman.

"A description of the suspect and her vehicle was broadcast to area officers," Gray said. "The suspect reportedly provided a note to the bank teller demanding money and stating that she had a weapon and the suspect left the scene with money stolen from the bank."

The suspect vehicle was located on East Putnam Avenue near Church Street, not far from the bank.

Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the operator, who was identified by witnesses. Evidence of the robbery was also found in the vehicle, Gray said.

Meighan Marie McSherry, 46, of New York, New York was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny
