Greenwich Police Officer Diana Schuttler Retires

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Police Officer Diana Schuttler, a member of the department for 22 years, has retired, announced Police Chief James J. Heavey.

Officer Schuttler was sworn in as Greenwich Police Officer in 1994 and graduated from the 243rd Connecticut Municipal Police Training Council’s Basic Police Academy. During her tenure, she served for many years as a Youth Officer assigned to the Special Victims Section of the Detective Division.

Officer Schuttler has received numerous departmental commendations for excellent police work and actions exemplifying the best traditions of police service. These accomplishments were exhibited in a wide range of circumstances over the years. Her commendations range from undercover narcotics investigations to apprehensions of wanted felons.

"Officer Schuttler has lived up to the department’s vision to improve the quality of life within Greenwich while at the same time maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity," said Heavey in a statement. "Her professionalism and compassion are often cited in the letters and calls we’ve received from appreciative families that Officer Schuttler has helped in particularly during her years in the Youth Division. I wish her the very best in all her future endeavors."

She has been recognized as the Officer of the Month on two occasions, in April 2007 for her efforts in the arrest of a violent suspect during a severe Domestic Incident. And again in June of 2011 for her exceptional police work in the arrest of a suspect who had robbed a local pharmacy.
