Greenwich Police Warn Residents Of 'Puppy Scam'

Police said flyers were seen posted in the downtown area advertising mini goldendoodle puppies for sale.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department is warning residents about a potential financial scam involving flyers advertising mini goldendoodle puppies for sale.

A flyer was seen recently posted on light poles in the Greenwich Avenue area, police said Friday morning.

The flyer read: "Mini Goldendoodle Puppies For Sale. Child friendly, hypo-allergenic, low maintenance. Hurry, Limited amount available."

There is a contact phone number listed on the flyer, a well as a website.

"It has been determined that the website listed is genuine," police said. "However, the site owners have since retired, and someone is illegally using their website with an alternative phone number."

"The Greenwich Police Department is requesting that anyone with information regarding the subjects involved in this scam to contact the Community Impact Section at 203-618-8305," police added.
