Greenwich Public Schools Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools announced this week Sean O'Keefe has been appointed as the district's chief operating officer by Superintendent Toni Jones. His appointment is effective Dec. 16.

O'Keefe will replace Lorianne O'Donnell, who accepted a position outside of the district. He will lead the district's finance and facilities operations, according to a statement for the district.

"Our district is excited to welcome Sean to the Greenwich Public Schools administrative team," Jones said in a statement. "He is the right candidate for this position given his extensive experience across both the corporate and educational sectors. His management of large-scale and complex projects coupled with his strong abilities in financial and operational oversight make him a great asset for our team."

O'Keefe previously served as business administrator for the Board of Education in Trumbull, where he was in charge of the annual budget process, monthly financial performance reviews, payroll and health insurance among other responsibilities.

Prior to his role in educational administration, O'Keefe held multiple financial and operational roles at IBM, including managing the company's multibillion-dollar worldwide IT budget. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's in finance from Fordham University.
