Greenwich Schools Chief Operating Officer Resigns, Takes New Job
School officials said she recently submitted a letter of resignation to the superintendent, and the search for a replacement is underway.

GREENWICH, CT — School officials confirmed Tuesday that Lorianne O'Donnell is resigning as chief operating officer for Greenwich Public Schools. According to district spokesperson Sasha Houlihan, O'Donnell submitted a letter of resignation to Superintendent Toni Jones last week, however she will will remain with the district through Nov. 15.
A note regarding her departure was sent out to staff and the Board of Education last week.
Houlihan said O'Donnell is heading to Abilis, a non-profit organization that provides services and support to the special needs community, where she will similarly serve as chief operating officer. The organization has offices in Greenwich and Stamford, according to their website.

"Abilis is looking forward to welcoming Lorianne on Nov. 18," Abilis spokesperson Erica Klair said in an email to Patch. "We are confident that she will be an asset to our organization and are thrilled that she is joining our team. Lorianne will be instrumental in supporting the organization while we continue to expand our services in lower Fairfield county."
Jones confirmed the district is searching for a replacement COO and will "evaluate the best option once the candidate pool is vetted."

O'Donnell been with the district for over two years, having joined as COO in August 2017.
