Greenwich Public Schools Honor Veterans
Events are scheduled at several schools on Nov. 9 and 12.

From GPS: Thursday, November 8, 2018 – On Monday, November 12, 2018 (Veterans Day observed), the Greenwich Public Schools will recognize veterans, locally and across the nation, for their service to our country. November 11 is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, which ended World War I in 1918. The public schools have planned the following ceremonies and instructional activities beginning this week - see attached for detail.
Central Middle School (CMS) – CMS Principal will address the school on the history and significance of Veterans Day as part of morning announcements. Social studies classes have planned lessons about the role and experience of our soldiers (veterans); some classes will write letters to be delivered to a veterans group. Veterans have been invited to speak to students during their social studies classes.
