Greenwich School Administrator Takes Job In Darien
She began her tenure with Greenwich Public Schools in 2007.

GREENWICH, CT — Kathleen (Kat) Brunswick, Assistant Principal at North Mianus School in Greenwich, is leaving the district to take a special education teaching position at Tokeneke Elementary School in Darien, she announced this week.
Her last day with Greenwich Public Schools will be Sept. 14, and the search for an Assistant Principal for North Mianus School will begin immediately. She served in the position for the past two years.
"My time at North Mianus and with the Greenwich Public Schools has been filled with wonderful memories that I will take with me forever," said Brunswick in a statement. "The staff at NMS and those colleagues with whom I have worked across the District are truly one in a million and some of the best educators I have ever worked with. They each bring a strength and skill set to this District which benefits the students of the Greenwich Public Schools."

Added North Mianus School Principal Angela Schmidt, "Kat is a consummate professional who always put the needs of children first. In her time at North Mianus School, parents and staff found her to be a caring and dedicated Assistant Principal devoted to ensuring all students had opportunities to be successful. Kat introduced North Mianus Cares enabling students to see connections between the school and the greater community. From making lunch for the homeless to visiting a local nursing home, Kat helped students live the Vision of the Graduate and develop the skills needed to become citizens of the world. She will be greatly missed by our whole school community."
Bio Brief: Kathleen Brunswick
Ms. Brunswick has served as Assistant Principal for North Mianus School (NMS) for the last two years. A special education teacher since 2004, Ms. Brunswick began her career as an educator in Cincinnati, OH for the Princeton City School District. From 2005 to 2007, she served as an intervention specialist for the Princeton City schools, before moving to Connecticut. She began teaching for the Greenwich Public Schools (GPS) in 2007 as a special education teacher for Parkway School, before moving to Glenville School in 2011. Ms. Brunswick has a strong background and experience in meeting the needs of all learners and also served as a site administrator for the GPS Summer School Program for summers 2013 to 2016.

Ms. Brunswick received a Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH in 2003; a Master of Education in special education from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH in 2005; and a certificate of advanced studies in educational leadership from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT in 2011.
